This will definitely be sad news to those of you who got through all those tough high school times by listening to songs like “Best of Me”, “Bedroom Talk”, and “Make Yourself at Home”. They have since done away with the boyish angst and have matured into something more professional, cohesive, and nearly perfect, and their latest CD, Direction, is sure to have extended their fanbase and put them back on the mainstream radar.

As of March 5, 2008, however, The Starting Line have decided to “take a break”. I’m not going to try to paraphrase their official statement or make any conclusions from it. I think everyone should read it for themselves, and realize how important this decision was for them and why they decided to make it. As a side note, I wish the guys the best of luck during their time off and with any future projects they decide to pursue. They’re an amazing band, and as I have stuck with them since they first hit the mainstream with “Best of Me”, I will continue to support them. I’ll be waiting eagerly for you guys to return!
