While I was too busy studying for a genetics exam I probably bombed anyway, I missed some pretty heavy news from two bands I truly admire! In a blog posted yesterday by My American Heart’s guitarist Jesse Barerra, he tries to clear up any confusion surrounding Steven’s departure from the band. You can go to My American Heart’s MySpace to read the blog for yourself. Filling in will be Jake Kalb, (formerly) of New Atlantic and The Fold. My American Heart’s fanbase is quite strong and comitted, and as they have stuck through band member changes and other ups and downs, I’m sure they will do the same again (I know I will). Goodluck to Steven and his future projects!
In addition, a statement was released today by Spencer, Daphne Loves Derby’s guitarist, about his decision to leave the band. You can read the statement at Decoymusic.com. Again, I will definitely miss Spencer and I wish him the best of luck in all the things he needs to get through. The decision seemed like a difficult yet mature one, and I respect the honesty in his statement. I am behind him 100%.
