It’s Spring time! Not only does that mean warmer weather is ahead (in theory), but a whole gang of bands will be heading out on tour! Take a peek:

  • Mercy Mercedes is about to head out on tour for the month of April. They will be announcing more tour dates later, so if your city isn’t on their list–hang tight! For the rest of you, get to the closest city you see on there! And if you have no idea who they are, check out their MySpace and listen to “The Perfect Scene”–can we say dance party fantastic?!
  • Artist vs. Poet, who we featured in our Monday Mix last week, are about to head out on tour as well. Unfortunately, they are a few members short and are looking for new ones–so if you are serious and experienced at playing guitar or bass (emphasis on serious), you should get in touch with them through their MySpace. If you know nothing about how to play bass or guitar, then you should still check out their show and have some fun!
  • The Ettes, who we Spotlighted last week, will be joining the European leg of The Black Keys’ tour in late May. So for you US fans that will be out of school by that point in time, convince your family to take a vacation overseas. Then, get to a show because you will definitely hear rock and roll at its absolute (modern day) finest. If you are wondering about the US tour dates for The Black Keys, you can view them on their MySpace, although most of them have already been sold out (I know. Bummer).
  • Socratic have announced that they will be heading out on tour this April. You can find a (brief) list of tour dates on their MySpace, but don’t fret–more will be posted soon. The guys will release a new album on May 6th, entitled “Spread the Rumor”. Ergo, you should go “spread” the word about the album AND the upcoming tour (I know–corny pun. Sorry)!
  • Kaddisfly is headlining a tour that will begin later this week. Bedlight For Blue Eyes and National Product will be performing with them, so go find yourself some tickets!
  • So which tour are you looking forward to this Spring? Is your favorite band about to head out on tour and we’ve missed it? You know the deal–holler it out in the comments!
