Your Turn: Myspace?

So we’ve been tossing around the idea of disabling our Myspace lately. It seems that most of you have been leaving comments there rather than on the site. While that’s great and all, we’re really hoping to build a community around this site, not our Myspace page. What do you think? Would you be more likely to read this site if we had a Myspace page? Should we hold delete it?

MySpace is always a good promotional tool. You shouldn’t delete it outright, but you might consider things like bulletins or blogs there that don’t have your posts but rather link to your posts on this site. That way, to read the posts, people have to actually click a link.

Thanks for the input, Jeff. The problem we’ve noticed is that people are posting reactions to our site on our myspace rather than here on the site. We have all sorts of subscription things set up here for people to get their posts by email or in an RSS reader, so the myspace bulletins (which we’ve been using as you described thus far) seem to be working against that.

What about everyone else? This community is for you so if you want the myspace, we’ll keep it!
