Friday Free for All!

As we get new interviews, songs, and articles prepped for the next upcoming days, we’re taking the back seat on this one and letting you guys call all the shots!

Click through to leave your mark!

Here’s the deal:
In the comments section of this post, post anything you want related to any music news you’ve heard recently. It’s a chance to let others know about an upcoming tour or CD release, or a band we have yet to feature. Did you take an awesome photo at a show this week? Did you hear about a band makeup or breakup? Go ahead and share it with everyone! And if you see something you like in the comments, go ahead and comment about that! We basically want this to be the opportunity for you guys to get connected with one another and with us on the site (we’re all about making friends here).

The rules (just so people won’t get a bit too free and wild):
1. No profanity or obscene photos, please. We will be monitoring all comments, so if we see any of the sort, it’s getting pulled immediately.
2. If you post band information, please cite the source for others to go look at…or if you want to promote a band, put a link to their MySpace, purevolume, or official website.

Have fun and help bring everyone up to date with what’s been going on! :]

    LANDON

I’m happy to let you all know about a band that I was lucky enough to find out about recently. If you are a fan of female-led rock bands, then you will definitely like this. In my opinion, it incorporates a solid rock sound with a danceable beat. Here is their profile information from their website:

“Landon, the spearhead of Landon Band, is anything but soft-spoken. The fearless female dominates the stage with strong vocals and emotionally provocative performances. The band as a whole delivers an aggressively dynamic live show without fluff. If comparisons need to be made, Chrissie Hynde comes to mind not because of similar styles but because of powerful vocals contrasting the hard edge of rock-n-roll. If Trent and Shirley were to wrap up, Landon Band would be the bloodshed. With addictive melodies and aggravated drumbeats, diverse influences are uncovered from Sneakerpimps & NIN to Garbage. It is fresh and unexpected for an indie rock band. Landon’s lyric sensibilities are poetic, super intelligent, addictive melodies and tight live show. While the in your face presence of the band is undeniable, they maintain integrity and mystery to their untouchable style and sound.”

Check out the new album “One Woman Army” released in January. You can find it on iTunes and Amazon, but for an limited time, you can stream the whole album at this site: http://www.worldsound.com/artists/artist.asp?id=51

You can also check them out on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/landoncentral

“Only 20″ and “Red Lipstick” are my favorites, so try them first!
