It’s always a difficult question:

“Who is your favorite band/artist?”

For me, this changes with time. Growing up, my favorite artists were Mariah Carey, Ray Charles, and TLC. If I was still in middle school (which for me was circa the boyband era) I probably would say that the Backstreet Boys, 2Pac, and Mariah Carey were my favorite artists. Fast forward to high school and my new favorite groups are Brand New, Linkin Park, and Mariah Carey (alright, so Ms. Cannon Carey will always be a favorite).
