For whatever reason, it seems as though we have a thing for educated rappers. If you’re originally from the Bay Area and into the music scene, then you’re probably familiar with MC Lars, the Stanford grad whose known for his self proclaimed “post-punk laptop rap”.

MC Lars used to be promoted a lot by The Matches, who were actually featured on his track, “Hot Topic is Not Punk Rock” (which is a must listen for any rock music fan). I say, MC Lars is a good blend of rap and lyrical comedy–most of his songs are upbeat and poke fun at today’s culture in a clever and humorous manner.

Recently, MC Lars released a track called “White Kids Aren’t Hyphy”, which pokes fun at every Bay Area kids’ attempt to be apart of the “hyphy movement”–regardless of whether they actually know what it’s about.

You can, of course, wiki the hyphy movement, but why not just listen to MC Lars’ new song and watch the video?

So without further blabbing, we present MC Lar’s new music video for “White Kids Aren’t Hyphy!”!!

Let us know what you think about this video, MC Lars, or the hyphy movement in general!
