Spotlight On: nevershoutnever!

When we heard word that there was a new online phenomenon out there, we had to check out what the hype was all about.

Christofer Drew, the young Missouri native behind nevershoutnever!, can be summed up in one word–talented. I’m sure his acoustic “electropop” will be compared to the likes of The Secret Handshake and Hellogoodbye, and he may even be accused of being just another one of the many solo artists who have tried to jump on the electronic synths bandwagon. But like I said, what distinguishes nevershoutnever! from the slew of other artists who try to make quality electropop music is the fact that he has talent. His lyrics are genuine and well written, while the composition of each song is rather dynamic–they’re simple enough where you won’t feel like you’re being beaten over the head with pseudo-techno beats, yet they’re complex enough for you to appreciate how Drew combines beautiful acoustic rhythms with upbeat catchy dance tunes.

nevershoutnever! has just finished recording his first real EP, entitled YIPPEE! EP, and we couldn’t be more excited for its release in late July! nevershoutnever! will be heading out on tour in July and August with Jamestown Story, Owl City, and Handshakes and Highfives, as well as regional dates in support of Meg & Dia.

We’re excited about this new young talent, and we’ve included his song, “heregoesnothin”, which is actually the first track off his new EP. We want to know what you guys think about nevershoutnever!, though–are you as excited as we are about this new talent?

so, im definately NC’s biggest nevershoutnever! fan.
when the melodic tunes of Christofer Drew floated through my ears, i immediately concluded that he is definately one of the most talented artists outthere; and one of my new FAVORITESSSSSS. christoferrrrrrrr; your amazing, and so is your music. keep it coming darling! :]

so basically, i headr about NeverShoutNever! through a friend, which isn’t suprising because i live only a few hours from him. But he is pretty amazing and I’m super stoke for the upcoming shows. My friends and I will definitely be making some trips up to Joplin to see him

I found out about this kid from my friend. She had his picture in her heroes section on myspace and a song of his on her profile. I really liked the song so I decided to check him out. And well now he’s one of my favorites. I love this kid and his music

He has some of the best tunes I’ve heard in a while.
Ever since the first time I’ve heard his stuff, I’ve been hooked- it’s thatttt good.

I found nevershoutnever! by a random profile jump on purevolume!! I really lucked out on that one. I cant wait till the EP comes out July is to far away!!!
