Q&A with Thee Armada!

To start your week off right, we have a new Q&A for you from Thee Armada! These guys made our Top 8 for the Summer of ‘08 list, and it seems as though everyone is digging “Rock, Shock, and Load” as well–their video has been featured on MTV2’s “You Rock the Deuce” and their song has been on Sirius Radio’s “Hit Bound” segment of the Hits1 channel. These guys are obviously on their way to the top and we couldn’t be more excited!

Almost A-List: If you could each switch “roles” in the band, which positions would you guys exchange?
Josh-drums
Brian-guitar
Bryan-bass
Taylor-drums
Mike-vocals

AA-L: We read that your name came from Coheed and Cambria’s Welcome Home. Does this song have any significance to you guys?
Thee Armada: Not particularly, it came to taylor when he was mowing the lawn and thought that “Armada” sounded cool. Bryan then decided to add an extra “E” to The to make it spelt how it’s pronounced.

AA-L: Rock Shock and Load has been a huge hit for you guys thus far. Did you think it would be as big as it has become?
TA: We’re so grateful of the response to the song and the success it’s brought us.

AA-L: You guys have been touring a ton these past few months. What are some good lessons you’ve learned on the road?
TA: Take things with a grain of salt and try to live life to the fullest!

AA-L: In the past, you have worked with Brian McTernan and David Bendeth. Are you working with anyone in particular on the current record you’re writing?
TA: Yes, and it will be announced shortly.

AA-L: What were you guys up to before you decided to make Thee Armada your full time job?
TA: Working dead end jobs and trying to get some schooling done.

AA-L: Who’s your favorite Ninja Turtle
Bryan- Raphael
Brian- Leonardo
Mike- Michelangelo
Taylor- Donatello
Josh- Michelangelo

AA-L: What’s the most played out question interviewers or fans will ask you (and hopefully it’s none of my questions)?
TA: How did you come up with your band name!

AA-L: As with many bands that gain a larger fanbase and hit mainstream, they are often accused of “selling out”. What do you guys think about this? Is it a concern for you?
TA: Well we try our hardest to please everyone and not everyone is going to be pleased. We will continue to push our band further and further and work harder than ever and if you consider that selling out, than we might as well stop trying to make music.

AA-L: What’s one word you would each use to describe the band?
TA: Grizzly!!!
