This is definitely old news, but in case you missed the memo, Be Your Own Pet announced last Friday that they will be parting ways after their four UK shows at the end of this month.

Here is the message they left on their MySpace:

“We are sad to bring you the news that our upcoming shows in the UK (dates below) are going to be our last as a band,” the group announced in a MySpace bulletin this morning. ” We thank you for all your love and support these past few years - its been a blast but the time has come for the 4 of us to go our separate ways.”

I’ve been trying to do some “investigating” to find out more about this unexpected break up, but no one seems to know the exact reason–and frankly, I respect that. Pitchfork suspects it may relate to the fact that BYOP cancelled their tour dates on Warped Tour this summer. Who knows…Whatever the reason is, I hope all the members are doing well and we wish them the best of luck in the future.
